Yunwei (Ryan) Li | ECCE 2020 General Chair

It is a great pleasure for me to welcome you to the 12th Annual IEEE Energy Conversion Congress & Exposition (ECCE 2020), from October 11 to October 15, 2020. ECCE is IEEE’s flagship conference on energy conversion systems and technologies and is sponsored by the IEEE Industrial Application Society (IAS) and IEEE Power Electronics Society (PELS).

Acclaimed for the top quality contents, ECCE is world’s leading technical conference and exposition for energy conversion solutions. Each year, we bring together, a multi-disciplinary group of researchers, engineers, and scientists from all over the world to present and exchange break-through ideas. ECCE is unique in our emphasis on integrated systems, presenting the best in applied integrated systems research together with innovations in individual energy conversion components.

2020 has been a very challenging year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. With the safety and well-being of our participants as our top priority, ECCE2020, originally planned to be hold in Detroit, Michigan, USA, has been converted to a fully virtual conference. To provide the maximum flexibility for the participants, the ECCE2020 virtual conference program will include video on demand tutorials, technical presentations, as well as live plenary session and special penal sessions. Virtual exhibition at ECCE will also showcase state-of-the-art technologies, products, and solutions.

In 2020, through a virtual online platform, ECCE 2020 continue to share an insight into the recent research and cutting-edge technologies in electrical and electromechanical energy conversion, which gains immense interest with the exuberant presence of talented researchers, practicing engineers, and other professionals. This virtual format allows us to still come together to learn, idea-share, and gain insight into the latest innovations within the energy conversion field, and ensures that the current landscape does not hinder anyone’s ability to participate.

Similar to the previous few years, ECCE2020 attendees will be able to choose to register for ECCE alone, or to jointly register for ECCE and the IAS Annual Meeting at a reduced combination rate. Joint registration will give you access to both ECCE and IAS Annual Meeting virtual platforms. Anyone interested in the future progress of electrical and electromechanical energy conversion should not miss.

We are looking forward to excellent meetings and exposition with great researchers, engineers, scientists, and exhibitors from different countries around the world, sharing new and exciting innovations in energy conversion systems and technologies. See you at ECCE 2020 through our exciting virtual platform!
