Title:

Model Predictive Control of Power Converters: Principle, Design and Applications

Instructors:

Ralph Kennel, Jose Rodriguez, Zhenbin Zhang and Tobias Geyer

Abstract:

Model Predictive Control has emerged as a very attractive and competitive technique for the control of power converters in comparison to linear control with Pulse Width Modulation. The tutorial will present the fundamentals and basic concepts of this technique as well as applications in drives, multilevel converters, wind generation, micro-grids, etc. The challenges, primary solutions, and the future tends of applying this technique in the fields of grid-tied energy conversion systems will be discussed as well. The tutorial is of interest for people from academia and industry and will be given by professors with high expertise in this area.
