ECCE2020 Call for PapersThe Twelfth Annual IEEE Energy Conversion Congress and Exposition (ECCE 2020) will be held in Detroit, Michigan, USA from October 11 to October 15, 2020. ECCE is a pivotal international event on energy conversion. ECCE 2020 will feature both industry-driven and application-oriented technical sessions, as well as expositions. The conference will bring together practicing engineers, researchers and other professionals for interactive and multidisciplinary discussions on the latest advances in areas related to energy conversion.

Technical papers are solicited on any subject pertaining to the scope of the conference, which includes, but is not limited to, the following major topics:

Energy Conversion Systems and Applications

  • Renewable and alternative energy
  • Smart grids, micro-grids, and utility applications
  • Electrical energy storage
  • Energy conversion for information technology and communication systems
  • Energy harvesting
  • Energy efficiency for residential, commercial and industrial applications
  • Big data and machine learning applications in energy conversion
  • Wireless power transfer
  • Lighting applications and displays
  • Transportation electrification
  • High power/voltage power conversion
  • High voltage isolation and lightning strike protection

Component, Converter and Subsystem Technologies

  • Power electronic devices (Si and wide band-gap) and applications
  • Power conversion topologies, modulation and control
  • Modeling and control of components, converters and systems
  • Rotating/linear electro-mechanical devices and drive systems and topologies
  • Passive components and materials
  • Power electronic packaging, integration and advanced manufacturing
  • Reliability, advanced fault protection systems, diagnostics, prognostics and equipment health management
  • EMI and EMC
  • Thermal management and advanced cooling technologies

Digests Submission

Prospective authors are requested to submit a digest no longer than five (5) pages, single column, single-spaced, summarizing the proposed paper. The digest should include key equations, figures, tables and references as appropriate, but no author names or affiliations. Digests not conforming to these requirements will be rejected without review. The digests must clearly state the objectives of the work, its significance in advancing the state of the art, and the methods and specific results in sufficient detail. All digests will go through a double-blind peer review process to ensure confidentiality and fair review. Please refer to the conference website for a detailed list of technical topics and the digest submission method.

Requirement Recap Make sure:

  1. the digest does not include any names or affiliations of the authors
  2. the digest has a maximum file size of eight megabytes (8 MB)
  3. the digest is at most five (5) pages long
  4. the digest has a one inch (1″) margin
  5. the digest has a single column
  6. the digest uses at least single line spacing
  7. the digest uses fonts that are at least 11pt (12pt is preferred)
  8. the digest is submitted through the Digest Submission Portal by no later than 11:59 pm EST on January 25, 2020 (Digest Submission button below).
