IAS/PELS WIE Best 3-Minute Presentation Award – DEADLINE EXTENDED to September 15th!
Dear Authors of Accepted Papers,
Step into the spotlight with IEEE ECCE 2026! We’re thrilled to extend an invitation for you to apply for the prestigious IEEE ECCE WIE Best 3-Minute Presentation Award.
The award recognizes exceptional presentation skills, innovative research, and the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively. It celebrates the contributions of women in engineering and promotes excellence in our field.
Timeline:
Application open: July 10, 2026
Submission deadline: August 30, 2026 September 15th
Announcement of winners: The result will be announced -TBD
How to Apply:
- You MUST have a paper accepted at the conference as author or co-author and be the person to present it at the conference.
- Your paper should be fully registered.
- Women applicants are HIGHLY encouraged
- You MUST prepare a video and send it according to the following rules:
- The video length needs to be 3 minutes (+/-5 seconds) long
- The paper information, such as the title, authors, affiliations, if another woman is co-authoring the paper, etc., need to be included;
- The video needs to be shared through cloud-based channels, such as OneDrive, Dropbox, Google Drive, YouTube, etc. Make sure to provide the link without requiring permission to view by anyone who has the link.
Evaluation:
- The scope of this award is to have the presenters working on the clarity of thoughts and focus on the main concept of the paper: which the question to answer is and how.
- The evaluation is based on 4 aspects: impact, novelty, presentation, video quality.
- The video, hence, will support the understanding of the whole paper, but in three minutes the focus should be on the novel concept or novel application of the work. Being comprehensive, though succinct, shall be the backbone supporting the effort of delivering a great presentation, ever!

Sign Up for The WiE Travel Grant!
A travel reimbursement program has been established for participants who wish to attend the IEEE Energy Conversion Congress & Expo (ECCE) 2026, which will be held in Vancouver, CA, Oct. 4 – Oct. 8, 2026.
This program, funded by the ECCE 2026 Organizing Committee, will reimburse part of the travel expenses (up to $500 from North America or Mexico and up to $1000 from the rest of the world) associated with the conference. To be eligible for this program, the applicant must:
- Be a member of IEEE
- Be available to attend the Women in Engineering (WiE) Events at the conference
- Have a valid full registration fee receipt
Please note that recipients cannot receive other grants to attend ECCE 2026. Students are encouraged to apply for the ECCE 2026 Student Attendance Grants.
Interested applicants should complete the application form by August 1, 2026, with valid proof of IEEE membership. E-mail notifications of travel awards will be sent by August 30, 2026. A wire transfer will be initiated to the awardees after the conference and upon submission of a W-9 (US citizens or permanent residents) or W-8 (non-US residents) tax form.
